Who Dat and Geaux Saints

I know this has nothing to do with the content/purpose of the site...
I know that there might be some of you that either don't care, can't stand the sport, or even hate the team...
This, however, is a huge deal for me.
I was born and raised there and would still be living in New Orleans had it not been for Katrina. I have been a Saints fan my entire life. I have watched every game, every year, for most of my life. I have sat through the heartaches, the downs and ups and downs. Believe me when I say it has been mostly down. I was there when they were the Aints, but never donned the bag. I have not, however, ever given up on them. I don't know if you can understand what this truly means to me or to those others that have been through any of this. It doesn't matter if you are a true Who Dat or just a New Dat, as there is room on the magic carpet for all.
So Geaux Saints and Bless You Boys this weekend in your first ever trip to the Superbowl in 43 years.

9 comments postedI'm a big Brees fan and have had much fun following his career. I couldn't be happier that he landed with the Saints. And the heart of that team and the fans, trumps all.
I'm hoping they win! Then all my Brees cards will go up more in value. :D ...and if they don't, I couldn't have a better second choice than the Colts.

Actually I do, but only because you included the word Superbowl in there somewhere. Still, I bet Paragon is *very* happy with the result ;-)

It was such a great game, actually. The fireworks that went off in my neighborhood when he took the knee to win the game was louder than the ones that were shot for New Years.

I am glad you are getting some contact high from it all. Like I have told many other. It doesn't matter whether you are w Who Dat or a New Dat. There is plenty of room my my magic carpet for anyone wanting to share the ride.
He's keeping Mangini, and judging from the team he put together in new york that might be good thing.
Im not sure about holmgren, I mean, what did he ever do without Brett Favre?
At any rate, there is part of me that will be happy to see the underdog saints win, because Im a sucker for the longshots, and the first timers. Plus I saw a thing on Sportscenter the other day where these guys in the Super Dome were holding up a sign that had re branded your state as "La-Brees-iana"
Thats funny, and its hard not to like fans like that.
I think Holmgren will be good for the Browns as long as he lets his coach coach.
Yeah we have some wild fans down here. I have seen La-Brees-iana, Drew-Brees-iana, and some others.
Drew is really a genuine guy and has done a lot for the people down here. His Brees foundation has allowed things to happen in 1 year that would have taken 10, and most of them deal with educational institutions.
The Mannings are the favored family of New Orleans, that's for sure, but not this weekend. :)
I get it, I do. Im Browns fan... I was a Browns fan thorugh The Drive, and The Fumble, I was a fan when there were no Browns.
But... Indy is an hour from here and this AFC country.
